The Golden State Warriors Basketball Team of the National Basketball Association is based in Oakland, California and competes in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the NBA. The Golden State Warriors Basketball Team has captured two NBA championship titles. The most recent one came from their home court of the Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA. Oakland Athletics. Oakland is also home to great baseball action with the Oakland Athletics. The Oakland A’s are a Major League Baseball team that competes in the American League’s Western Division. Dating back to 1901, the Oakland A’s began swinging as the Philadelphia Athletics. Later, the Athletics were moved to Kansas City in 1955, where they were known as the Kansas City Athletics. Then in 1968 the Athletics were transferred to their ultimate home in the city of Oakland, California where they would take on their current name, the Oakland Athletics.
